Job description

80–100%, Winterthur / Smart Working

Shape your future with us! Every success story begins with believing in yourself. At AXA, we see ourselves as a partner who stands beside you and believes in you. We challenge and support you, proactively showing you opportunities for your future. We encourage you and give you the freedom to bring together the things that matter to you. With your commitment and individual contribution, this becomes a forward-looking partnership—for you, for us, and for our customers, not just now but for the long term.

At AXA, you will find a culture where you can fully develop your strengths. We value critical thinking and innovative contributions, regardless of hierarchy. Write your own success story with us. Know You Can.

Around 600 software and systems developers work across Switzerland in Data, Technology & Innovation, developing tomorrow’s technology in-house. We also collaborate in global teams and networks, integrate the latest tools, organize hackathons, and work in self-organizing agile product teams that take end-to-end responsibility.

What you can expect

  • Join the “Genialytics” product team and share responsibility for building Agentic Offering, a fundamentally new way to create quotations in the P&C business, from architecture through production operations.
  • Design, implement, and operate robust LLM-based pipelines and agentic workflows for P&C underwriting, with the aim of delivering measurable business value.
  • Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to turn insurance requirements into reliable, working AI systems.
  • As a lead, be a sounding board and technical catalyst. Share knowledge through code reviews, architectural decisions, professional exchange, and establishing best practices.
  • Follow the latest developments in Agentic and Generative AI, assess them critically, and bring relevant advances to your team and stakeholders as a grounded thought leader.
  • Work beyond familiar paths to build something new, question assumptions, and have the courage to ask difficult questions—where the best solutions begin.

What you bring

  • Strong experience with production AI systems, from Agentic AI and RAG to context engineering. You understand the practical limitations of language models and know how to address them. Solid software-engineering fundamentals are essential.
  • Python and its ecosystem (e.g. LangChain) are part of your everyday work. You build APIs, orchestrate complex workflows, and integrate AI components into existing systems. GCP, MLOps, CI/CD, or container technology experience is an advantage.
  • Systems-level architectural thinking. You weigh latency, cost, security, and maintainability, and know when an agentic approach makes a difference and when a simpler solution is better.
  • Understanding of insurance products and processes, or enthusiasm for learning them. P&C, quotation, or insurance-process knowledge is an advantage; the best AI solutions combine domain knowledge and engineering.
  • You act as a thought leader, set technical direction, spot trends early, and turn them into concrete approaches for Agentic Offering. You contribute perspectives, question the status quo, and inspire people internally and externally.
  • You lead by example and attitude, set technical direction, contribute hands-on, and make room for your team’s ideas. Technical leadership means finding the best answer together, not knowing every answer.
  • You work proactively and independently, navigate ambiguity, test hypotheses, and learn from mistakes. Iteration is part of the path.
  • Fluent German and English.
