You will join a local data & cloud team as an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer in Aix-en-Provence.

The Regional Development Business Line of Sopra Steria brings together nearly 800 employees in France, within teams located across the entire territory. It supports local clients, public and private, on digital transformation projects : modernization of information systems, application development, data, cloud, AI and digitalization of business processes. The teams work on concrete projects, as close as possible to local challenges and end users, in direct contact with the business and IT departments of companies in the region.

Convinced that Data is a strategic lever for industry and services, you join a human-sized team in Aix-en-Provence that builds modern data platforms around Snowflake and the Cloud for regional clients with high impact. You work with our clients in the region, bringing your data and AI expertise to help them better leverage their data and accelerate their business use cases. You work closely with business teams, architects and cloud experts.

Your role and missions

Design and implement modern data architectures on Snowflake (modeling, pipelines, performance, security) to meet your clients' business needs.

Build and industrialize data flows (ingestion, transformation, orchestration) relying on the Cloud ecosystem (Snowflake, data integration services, ETL/ELT tools...).

Leverage Snowflake's AI capabilities (notably Snowflake Cortex and associated features) to implement advanced use cases : recommendation, scoring, augmented analysis, automation of analyses, etc.

Collaborate with business teams to understand their challenges (industrial steering, operational performance, reporting, analytics, AI use cases) and translate their needs into concrete and robust data solutions.

Ensure data quality, reliability and governance (reference data, data quality, traceability), and implement operational best practices.

Participate in setting up dashboards and advanced analyses in conjunction with Data Analysts / Data Scientists, in order to enhance the value of collected data and leverage available AI capabilities.

Contribute to facilitating workshops and meetings with business and IT teams to present proposed architectures, technical choices and best practices.

Share your experience within the local and national Data & Cloud community (Tech’Me UP, internal communities), and help more junior profiles develop their skills.

Qualifications

You have at least 5 years of experience in a Data Engineer position, ideally in industrial or services contexts, with a strong project dimension.

You master Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data platform and want to make Snowflake your main playground (modeling, optimization, security, governance).

You have solid experience with Cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP) and with designing data pipelines (ETL/ELT, orchestration, automation).

You have ideally already experimented with AI use cases around data (AI features integrated into data platforms, managed AI/ML services, or generative AI tools applied to data) and are motivated to deepen these topics with Snowflake.

You have a strong sensitivity to Data topics in the broad sense: data quality, reference data, governance, business processes, and you like understanding the “ why ” behind technical needs.

You are comfortable speaking: you know how to present your architecture choices, facilitate workshops and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

You are curious, rigorous, autonomous and enjoy working as part of a team in a local environment with your clients and colleagues.

You have English at B2 level, enabling you to interact with international contacts and read technical documentation.
