Job description
Rothschild & Co
Rothschild & Co is a leading international financial services group, family-controlled for seven generations and at the center of financial markets for more than 200 years. Our expertise, know-how, and global network enable us to offer a distinctive perspective that benefits our clients’ businesses and wealth, as well as our stakeholders, while respecting our planet. Our 4,200 financial advisory specialists work on the ground in more than 40 countries and provide a unique international perspective through four leading businesses: Global Advisory, Wealth Management, Asset Management, and Five Arrows. As a family group founded on human relationships, we place particular importance on recruiting and developing our employees so they can thrive in their careers.
Context
We are looking for an AI Product Owner to join the Wealth & Asset Management (WAM) AI Center of Expertise (CoE), a key part of WAM’s Data & AI strategy. The CoE implements the AI roadmap across WAM geographies (including France, Belgium, Monaco, the UK, and Switzerland), pools expertise and resources, and ensures a consistent, compliant, high-performing approach across AI solutions for business processes.
Operating as a coordinated distributed model, the CoE ensures cross-functional coordination, standardized practices, and solution governance. It helps business teams identify, prioritize, and design new use cases, while supporting large-scale deployment in close collaboration with business, IT, and support functions.
The CoE includes Product teams responsible for designing and developing AI solutions that directly meet business needs. Platform teams support them by defining and managing the technical roadmap, maintaining environments, tools, and shared services (Azure AI Foundry, APIM, DevOps, observability, security), and continuously automating, optimizing, and industrializing processes.
In this setting, the CoE Product Owner plays a central role: owning the product vision, aligning the product roadmap with the cross-functional roadmap, encouraging collaboration between technical and business teams, and keeping value creation, functional quality, compliance, and adoption central. The role directly contributes to industrializing and scaling AI capabilities across WAM.
Main responsibilities
- Facilitate functional design workshops and meetings; write and organize the backlog; break work into deliverable projects.
- Communicate the product vision to stakeholders, organize demonstrations, and collect user feedback.
- Present user stories, communicate major changes, and report sprint progress.
- Test releases, ensure functional and technical quality, and arbitrate changes during acceptance testing.
- Monitor operations, qualify Level 2 incidents, and add minor enhancement requests to the backlog.
- Support adoption, maintain and deploy solutions, and develop the backlog identified for each project.
More specifically, you will:
Build the product vision and manage the roadmap
- Support the Product Manager in developing and summarizing the product vision, roadmap, and product backlog in line with business and client expectations.
- Identify key success indicators (business value).
- Manage the backlog—adding, removing, updating, and continuously ordering items according to business and client vision, expectations, and feedback.
- Prioritize initiatives in line with the CoE’s strategic objectives and OKRs.
- Lead scoping workshops with sponsors and stakeholders (business, IT, Compliance).
- Regularly communicate backlog progress and deliveries to stakeholders and sponsors.
Deliver and manage projects
- Propose a delivery roadmap and plans that optimize business and client value while identifying and controlling risks.
- Take ownership of cross-functional initiatives that help scale the CoE (monitoring, agentic AI, LLM benchmarking, etc.).
- Support the development team and facilitate its working practices and ceremonies.
- Write user stories and ensure functional requests are understood correctly.
- Supervise testing and ensure the functional quality of AI solutions.
Measure performance and drive continuous improvement
- Track usage and performance indicators for AI solutions (adoption, business value, functional quality, performance, costs) and direct or indirect feedback.
- Track and evolve AI CoE KPIs, including generative AI metrics (answer quality, reliability, latency, cost per use).
- Identify optimization and innovation opportunities through active technology monitoring and benchmarking models, architectures, and industry practices.
- Contribute to organizational AI standards and guidelines.
Experience and expected skills
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Product Owner, ideally in complex international environments.
- Analytical ability, problem-solving, service orientation, and customer focus.
- Successful experience within AI teams or projects.
- Knowledge of generative AI technologies and good prompt-engineering skills (structuring and contextualizing prompts).
- Experience designing or managing platform products or shared capabilities (tools, common services, frameworks) is a major advantage.
- Ability to work in exploratory, evolving environments (new AI architectures, agentic AI, emerging models).
- Confidence working with expert technical teams (platform, architecture, security, data/AI).
- Excellent communication in French and English.
- Banking-sector knowledge is an advantage.
- Proficiency with Agile ceremonies; Agile Scrum certification recommended (PSPO, CSPO, etc.).
Personal qualities
- Excellent ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Strong interpersonal skills, rigor, service orientation, and ability to engage stakeholders.
- Independence, analytical mindset, initiative, and agility in iterative work.
One reason for the long-term success of our business is the importance we place on being principled. It is this belief that drives both the way we work with our clients and the way we hire, manage and develop our people—and we look for the same qualities from them in return. Our teams reflect the diverse needs of our clients, businesses and the markets we operate in around the world. We value, and seek to maintain, an eclectic mix of skills and backgrounds—encouraging everyone to come together to share their perspectives for the good of each other, the business and our clients.
