Onepoint · Paris, France

Full-Time

Job description

Contribute to major transformations in businesses and public-sector organizations by combining technological innovation with business expertise, serving our clients and society and helping them move forward sustainably. Beyond corporate social responsibility, we have developed our own RESET approach, encompassing our economic, social, environmental, and technological commitments both within our community and for our clients. Onepoint is an inclusive, disability-friendly company with a strong diversity policy.

The Smart Business Transformation community (1,000 people) is the Onepoint entity that ensures transformations create real value. We start from business challenges, design transformation paths, and anchor them in the right data and technology foundations. We deliver neither disconnected strategies nor IT projects without impact: we connect vision, business teams, and execution. To achieve this, we draw on five data and AI centers of expertise that bring together people with shared challenges, ambitions, and commitment to impact.

Your new challenges in this role

To support growth in our data expertise community, we are hiring an Enterprise Knowledge & Semantic Data Expert to help clients structure and model their data and knowledge so business teams, applications, and AI systems can understand and use them. You will contribute to our “Talk to my Data” offering, which enables every employee to query company data in natural language and receive a reliable, explained, and traceable answer.

You will work on assignments involving:

  • Leading workshops with business teams to understand and formalize their concepts, entities, rules, and relationships, and build a coherent representation of enterprise knowledge.
  • Building a shared business language: define and document atomic data elements and KPIs, their calculation rules, units of measure, and analysis dimensions; reconcile conflicting definitions across departments; and maintain a shared KPI catalog for both users and AI agents.
  • Designing and evolving semantic and knowledge models (conceptual models, semantic layers and metric models, ontologies, taxonomies, or knowledge graphs) and connecting them with each domain’s data products.
  • Connecting business concepts with their representation in the data landscape by linking business terminology, glossaries, catalogs, metadata, data sources, and data products.
  • Structuring the context LLMs, conversational assistants, and AI agents need to query data in natural language: definitions, disambiguation rules, reference queries (“golden queries”), examples, and use-case context.
  • Improving answer reliability by building benchmark question sets, evaluating answer accuracy, tracking sources and calculation rules, and incorporating access permissions into semantic models.
  • Defining and maintaining semantic governance: Business/Data/IT roles, approval and versioning processes for definitions, change management, and gradual expansion to new domains.
  • Contributing to the design and integration of the semantic layer and knowledge graphs in Data, AI, and agentic architectures, in collaboration with business teams, Data Architects, Data Engineers, and AI teams.
  • Working through every project stage: maturity assessment and scoping, a proof of value in an initial domain, MVP launch, then industrialization and scaling.
  • Gradually improving knowledge quality, context, and accessibility to encourage reuse across Data & AI products and use cases.

Your profile and areas of expertise to develop

You have a degree from an engineering school, university, or equivalent program and significant experience with data modeling, semantic modeling, knowledge management, or knowledge graphs, gained in a consulting firm.

  • You understand conceptual and logical data-modeling principles and can translate business entities, rules, metrics, and relationships into structured, usable data and knowledge models.
  • You have knowledge of semantic modeling. Experience with one of the following families is a plus: semantic layers and metric models (dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, AtScale, LookML, semantic models in Power BI/Fabric, Snowflake, or Databricks); semantic web standards (RDF, OWL, SKOS, SHACL, SPARQL); knowledge graphs and graph databases.
  • You understand LLMs and agentic architectures (text-to-SQL, RAG/GraphRAG, MCP, context management, evaluation) and can design models that reduce hallucinations and make answers explainable.
  • You have experience with data and metadata governance (glossaries, data catalogs, data products, data quality, access permissions).
  • You understand data architectures and work comfortably with stakeholders across business teams, Data Architects, Data Engineers, and AI teams.
  • You have strong analytical and conceptual skills and can understand complex or heterogeneous data landscapes and build a coherent representation.
  • You are curious, rigorous, and able to teach, with a strong consulting mindset: you can lead workshops, arbitrate between competing definitions, and translate business concepts into models that both users and Data & AI systems can understand.

Recruitment process

  1. HR conversation about your goals and motivation, and an introduction to the company (30 minutes, Teams or in person).
  2. Conversation with an operational team member (1 hour, Teams or in person).
