Job description

About Artefact

Artefact is a global leader in data and AI services, headquartered in Paris. We combine the rigor and structured problem-solving of a top strategy consultancy with deep expertise in data, AI, and analytics to deliver measurable business results. With more than 2,000 consultants, Data Scientists, and engineers in 26 countries, we work with global market leaders. Our German office is growing strongly and advises clients across industries on their most pressing strategic challenges. We do more than deliver presentations: we bridge technology opportunities and business needs, guiding clients from their first lighthouse use case to enterprise-wide AI maturity.

As a Consulting Manager (m/f/d) Data & AI Strategy, you will act as a trusted sparring partner to executives, lead complex cross-functional transformation programs, and drive organizational change at scale.

Your main responsibilities

Lead AI transformation programs end to end, from focused short projects with upper-midmarket companies to multi-phase enterprise transformations. Identify internal champions, bring stakeholders along, overcome obstacles, and ensure measurable adoption and organizational change. Work closely with C-level stakeholders on strategic questions such as how AI changes the business model and what data governance is needed. Advise strategically while also helping with model selection and assessing technical feasibility. Actively grow our German practice through lead generation and pipeline conversion: approach potential clients, develop tailored proposals, and strategically develop key accounts. Position Artefact as the go-to partner for Enterprise AI through expert discussions, LinkedIn content, white papers, and practical insights on current trends such as Agentic AI and real-world adoption paths. Evolve the practice’s methods, tools, and frameworks; create reusable transformation playbooks and contribute strategic or industry expertise. Mentor and lead agile, hybrid teams of consultants, Data Scientists, and engineers, fostering a dynamic can-do culture.

Your profile

We value ownership, intellectual curiosity, and strong teamwork. We seek motivated, capable people who want room to shape things and grow with us—team players who support others while advancing the company and their own careers. Around 5–8 years of relevant experience in management consulting, technology, or a dynamic environment such as a leading startup or boutique consultancy. Track record delivering data, analytics, or AI projects is essential. Strong experience leading complex cross-functional transformation programs, navigating enterprise environments and executive stakeholders, and embedding AI capabilities sustainably in client organizations. Practical understanding of modern AI architectures such as LLM-powered workflows, Agentic AI, and Generative AI, plus AI-evaluation best practices; you need not be a full-time developer. Able to demonstrate AI concepts credibly and discuss data privacy. Strong knowledge of common Machine Learning methods, cloud architectures, and data-management principles, with excellent quantitative skills for deriving strategic insights. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills; able to explain technical topics persuasively to non-technical senior management and bridge to technical delivery teams. Excellent academic record and bachelor’s/master’s degree in business, economics, computer science/business informatics, physics, mathematics, or a comparable quantitative field. Fluent written and spoken German and English. Valid work authorization in Germany.

Why Artefact?

Strategy meets deep tech: work at the unique intersection of leading business strategy and deep technology, advise up to C-level, and stay at the forefront of the AI revolution. Impact and entrepreneurship: join a fast-growing German team with high visibility from day one, shape Artefact’s regional footprint, contribute your ideas, and drive growth.
