About the degree project

As a degree project student, you will develop a digital costing tool that supports the tender process for BoP (Balance of Plant) and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects within BESS. The goal is to reduce the time required to produce cost estimates while increasing the quality and accuracy of tender work.

The project may include AI-based methods for analyzing large amounts of information from technical specifications, contracts, drawings, and other tender documents. The tool should be able to identify relevant requirements, risks, and cost-driving factors that affect project execution.

You will:

• Map the current costing and tender process for BESS projects.

• Develop a concept or prototype for a costing tool adapted for BoP and EPC projects.

• Investigate and implement AI methods to analyze technical, contractual, and financial requirements in tender documents.

• Evaluate how the tool can make the tender process more efficient and reduce manual work.

• Present recommendations for future implementation and further development within Omexom.
