Job description
80–100% | Winterthur / Smart Working
Shape your future—with us.
We are the Claims Analytics team in AXA Switzerland’s Data & AI Competence Center. Together with the business, we develop and operate data-driven solutions that create real value in claims handling. We are a team that values critical thinking, stays open to new perspectives, and wants to grow together. Hierarchies do not matter here—good ideas do. You will have the opportunity to make a real impact in the insurance industry.
Around 600 software and systems developers work across Switzerland in Data, Technology & Innovation, developing the technology of tomorrow in-house. We also collaborate in global teams and networks. We shape and integrate the latest tools, hold hackathons, and our agile product teams are self-organizing and responsible for their work end to end.
What you can expect
- Develop, optimize, and operate cloud-based Data & AI applications on GCP that use resources efficiently and create measurable value.
- Work with users and analyze data to develop a deep understanding of business problems and processes, then build suitable (agentic) AI applications.
- Work with hypotheses and experiments, monitor the functional performance of live systems, and proactively improve them.
- Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and business experts, confidently navigating business and technical requirements to create reliable, scalable AI solutions. Bring your own perspective actively.
- Contribute your knowledge to the team through code reviews, professional discussion, and sharing best practices.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in AI and share your knowledge with team members and stakeholders.
What you bring
- Practical experience in context engineering, RAG, agentic AI, evaluation, and monitoring. You understand where LLMs fail and have strategies to address this. You know how context, retrieval, and generation work together to build effective applications.
- Good knowledge of Python, SQL, LangChain, LangGraph, or similar, and confidence with collaborative development workflows such as Git, code reviews, and pull requests. GCP and coding-agent experience are a plus.
- Ability to judge when an agentic approach is appropriate and when a simpler solution is sufficient. You design architectures beyond individual components.
- Fluent German (at least B2) and English.
- Bonus: Experience in insurance, regulated industries, and AI governance.
