About BCG Platinion
BCG Platinion's presence spans across the globe, with offices in Asia, Europe, and South and North America. We achieve digital excellence for clients with sustained solutions to the most complex and time-sensitive challenge. We guide clients into the future to push the status quo, overcome tech limitations, and enable our clients to go further in their digital journeys than what has ever been possible in the past. At BCG Platinion, we deliver business value through the innovative use of technology at a rapid pace. We roll up our sleeves to transform business, revolutionize approaches, satisfy customers, and change the game through Architecture, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, Enterprise Application and Risk functions. We balance vision with a pragmatic path to change transforming strategies into leading-edge tech platforms, at scale.
What You'll Do
As a Senior AI Tech Consultant in our Telecommunications practice, you will work with BCG case teams and client leadership on complex technology and transformation challenges. You will own substantial workstreams: structuring problems, developing hypotheses, conducting analysis and translating findings into recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Your work may span:
Telco platforms and modernisation - transforming BSS/OSS and digital estates across customer, product, order, billing, charging, service management and assurance
Customer and digital experience - shaping digital channels, CRM, customer care, contact-centre platforms and AI-enabled customer interactions
Cloud, platform and engineering transformation - supporting cloud and platform strategies, DevSecOps, engineering effectiveness and AI-enabled software delivery
GenAI, agentic AI and automation - identifying high-value opportunities across customer care, IT and network operations, redesigning human-agent workflows and moving from pilots to scaled impact
Technology operating model and delivery - improving organisation structures, governance, decision rights and ways of working
Technology economics, cost and sourcing - supporting cost transformation, vendor strategy, managed services, cloud economics and technology productivity
You will help clients prioritise AI value pools, develop business cases and roadmaps, and assess the data, platform, governance, risk and change capabilities required to scale GenAI and agentic solutions responsibly.
You will evaluate technology options and vendor proposals and support decisions balancing value, cost, risk and implementation complexity. Working with architects, engineers, product and AI specialists, you will understand technical implications while staying focused on strategic and transformation questions.
You will support implementation through governance, value tracking, risk management and programme assessment. You will lead client workshops, communicate recommendations, coach junior colleagues and contribute to proposals, client relationships and BCG Platinion's Telco capabilities.
What You'll Bring
Typically 6-10 years of experience across technology consulting, digital transformation, software development, technology delivery or programme management
Prior technology consulting experience solving complex client technology and transformation problems
Strong Telecommunications industry knowledge and experience with communications service providers or relevant ecosystems
Strong experience in at least two areas: Telco platforms and modernisation; customer and digital experience; cloud and engineering transformation; data, GenAI and agentic transformation; technology operating model and delivery; or technology economics and sourcing
Understanding of GenAI and agentic AI applications, including use-case prioritisation, workflow redesign, human-agent interaction, data/platform requirements, responsible AI, adoption and value realisation
Ability to identify Telco AI opportunities across customer care, sales, IT, network operations, software delivery and corporate functions
Good understanding of key Telco technology domains and how customer, product, order, billing, charging, service, network and digital capabilities interact
Awareness of evolving Telco approaches and industry standards, including modular and API-enabled platforms and relevant TM Forum standards
Experience assessing legacy technology environments and developing pragmatic transformation options
Ability to evaluate technology programmes and vendors from strategic, commercial, technical and delivery perspectives
Strong hypothesis-driven problem-solving skills, an 80:20 mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity
Strong business acumen and ability to connect technology and AI investments to customer outcomes, productivity, cost, risk and value
Ability to develop clear roadmaps, business cases and executive recommendations and to lead workshops with senior client stakeholders
Ability to independently manage a workstream, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and coach junior colleagues
Sound professional judgement, intellectual curiosity, integrity and a collaborative, results-oriented style, with excellent English communication skills
A university degree in a STEM-related field or business management; advanced degrees (MBA, MSc) are advantageous
