THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

Santander is looking for an AI Engineer in Mexico City or Querétaro. We are redefining how we work through innovation, state-of-the-art technology, collaboration, and the freedom to explore new ideas. Responsibilities include refining prompts and extraction logic so pipelines process complex documents more accurately and building test sets to demonstrate results; implementing tools, parsers, validators, and orchestration modules within larger agentic systems; running ML experiments, comparing approaches, documenting results, and creating reproducible benchmarks; connecting APIs, moving data between systems, writing tests, and ensuring components work together in production; and implementing ML and GenAI solution components under the guidance of more experienced engineers.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM

Professional experience: 1–3 years in Data Science, ML, AI, or data-oriented software development.

Education: Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Technical skills

Machine learning and statistics: Understand core supervised and unsupervised learning concepts, cross-validation, and evaluation metrics. Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings, prompting, and basic RAG concepts. Ability to build simple LLM workflows using structured prompts, model API calls, and response parsing. Functional Python skills, with clean, readable, testable code. Basic SQL knowledge. Version control (Git), basic testing, and project structure. Willingness to move from notebooks to modular, production-ready code.
