Job description
Do you want beneficial technologies shaped by your ideas? Whether in mobility solutions, consumer goods, industrial technology, or energy and building technology, you can help improve quality of life around the world. Welcome to Bosch.
We are seeking a Chief AI Software Technologist with deep AI expertise and leadership to drive the company’s software-intelligence transformation. Reporting directly to the general manager, you will develop company-wide strategy to integrate advanced AI throughout the software-engineering lifecycle and improve efficiency, quality, and cost competitiveness. As the AI technical authority, you will work with software team leaders to identify high-impact opportunities, design AI solutions, and lead implementation. Your core mission is to solve fundamental software-engineering challenges through AI-driven innovation.
Core responsibilities
- Lead deployment of AI models and systems. Fine-tune large language models (SFT, LoRA, RLHF), optimize inference, and design domain models for software engineering, including code, testing, and logs.
- Lead agent-system inference control and orchestration, including reasoning-mode control, tool-use workflows, and short- and long-term memory strategies and lifecycle management.
- Structure unstructured code, logs, and technical documents and extract knowledge to support continuous learning in agent memory.
- Define and implement data-integration standards for AI modules, including consistent prompts, memory schemas, and data-exchange rules.
- Help build data governance, consistent definitions, standardization rules, and quality-evaluation strategies to improve training and inference data.
- Clean, label, and structure text, logs, and other unstructured data for business use.
- Build, train, and lead AI-solution architecture and engineering teams; guide prototypes, production deployment, performance tuning, and iteration.
- Guide the team through practical challenges in training, inference, and integration.
- Establish AI engineering standards, best practices, and measurable quality metrics such as development-cycle time, defect density, and resource cost.
- Work closely with development, testing, and DevOps teams to understand problems and deliver practical AI solutions. Provide internal AI training and advocacy.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, AI, or a related field.
- Expert Python skills and proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or similar frameworks; knowledge of feature engineering.
- Familiarity with pretrained models such as ChatGPT, Llama, or Stable Diffusion. Practical NLP/NLG experience, including LLM fine-tuning (SFT/LoRA/RLHF) and inference optimization.
- Strong experience cleaning, labeling, and structuring unstructured text, logs, and documents; production experience in data mining, feature modeling, and feature matching.
- Familiarity with agent frameworks and applications such as A2A, Skills, and MCP; ability to deploy them quickly in current IT environments. Experience developing multi-agent systems, inference control, tool use, and memory strategies.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and DevOps/CI/CD.
- Experience taking an AI solution from concept to implementation in a real business system.
- Preferred: applied AI projects in code intelligence, test intelligence, or DevOps; papers in leading international journals or conferences or a top Kaggle ranking; ADAS experience; deep understanding of low-level software such as operating systems, compilers, or databases.
- Results-oriented, able to quantify business impact in efficiency, quality, and cost; strong technical communication and teamwork; eager to learn, resilient, proactive, and able to communicate in English.
