Full-time

Job description

Do you want beneficial technologies shaped by your ideas? Whether in mobility solutions, consumer goods, industrial technology, or energy and building technology, you can help improve quality of life around the world. Welcome to Bosch.

Role overview

Design the data-intelligence foundation and AI products for advanced, discrete, and process-manufacturing companies. Understand industrial settings and create an end-to-end architecture from equipment-data collection and governance through AI-model deployment. Lead the architecture for industrial agents that combine perception, decision-making, and execution into collaborative intelligent systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design overall architectures for industrial big-data, industrial Internet, and AI platforms, including edge data collection, data lakes/warehouses, ML/deep-learning foundations, and SaaS industrial applications. Select technology for large-scale time-series data to support high write throughput, low-latency queries, and high reliability, including time-series databases, stream-processing engines, and batch frameworks.
  • Design MLOps for model training, inference, deployment, monitoring, and iteration in predictive maintenance and parameter optimization.
  • Design industrial agents across perception (multimodal data), decision (reinforcement learning and operations research), and execution (commands and feedback), including multi-agent and human collaboration.
  • Work with process engineers and equipment managers on factory floors, production lines, and equipment to turn industrial knowledge into reusable business models.
  • Design equipment diagnosis and predictive maintenance from vibration/temperature data; visual defect detection and yield prediction/root-cause analysis; production scheduling and supply-chain collaboration; and factory energy and carbon-footprint optimization.
  • Design agent workflows using prompts, memory, retrieval-augmented knowledge, and supporting modules.
  • Establish data governance, equipment master data, quality audits, and metadata management to solve dirty and siloed data. Map physical equipment and lines to the digital space for 3D visualization, live data, and high-fidelity agent-simulation training.
  • Lead core code development or proof-of-concept frameworks. Solve performance issues in large time-series storage, complex-event processing, and large-scale inference. Coordinate with PLC, sensor, edge-gateway, algorithm, and application teams to deploy at the edge or in the cloud; support presales technical bids.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, automation, mathematics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of big-data or AI-platform architecture, including at least three years in manufacturing such as automotive, electronics, steel, chemicals, or new energy.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing, MES, SCADA, PLC, and DCS data integration; familiarity with OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, and Profinet.
  • Proficiency in Hadoop, Spark, or Flink; knowledge of InfluxDB, TDengine, TimescaleDB, relational databases, and data-lakehouse architecture.
  • Understanding of ML/deep learning and TensorFlow/PyTorch deployment. Edge model compression or Jetson/embedded deployment, knowledge graphs, or operations-research implementations are advantages.
  • Deep understanding of agents, RL, multi-agent systems, planning/decision algorithms such as POMDP or Monte Carlo tree search. Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2, embodied AI, Gazebo, Unity ML-Agents, autonomous systems, adaptive control, or industrial robot programming is an advantage.
  • Distributed-system architecture experience for high concurrency, low latency, and high availability; Docker/Kubernetes and cloud-native technology. Strong agent architecture, autonomous decision-making, collaboration, and optimization skills.
  • Strong logic and abstraction, able to translate industrial concepts such as OEE, yield, and takt time into data models and algorithm features. Communicate with customer technical leaders, business leaders, and frontline teams; resilient in factory environments and complex technical challenges.

Preferred: experience building an industrial Internet platform from zero and passing a national “dual-cross” platform review; process-algorithm expertise in semiconductors, automotive-grade manufacturing, lithium batteries, or heavy machinery; IT/OT integration and basic PLC/ladder-logic knowledge; PMP, TOGAF, or cloud-architect certification.
