About Event

Whether you're deep in a PhD, halfway through a postdoc, or already in industry, you've probably noticed that biology and AI are starting to get a little… entangled.

So… what is TechBio? is one of the first AI x Bio gatherings in Barcelona, for scientists (MSc, PhD, postdocs, academia or industry) who are curious what this world actually looks like from the inside.

A couple of people who made the jump will share how they moved into TechBio: what surprised them, what transferred, and what they wish they'd known earlier. Then we open it up, and keep talking over drinks.

No coding required. Curiosity is enough.

Lorena Roldán Martín, PhD is a Senior Scientist in Discovery AI at AstraZeneca, applying AI and computational modelling to protein engineering, enzyme design, and drug discovery. Her work bridges computational biology research and therapeutic innovation.

Matteo Tardelli, PhD is a Scientific Project Lead at Turbine, working at the intersection of AI, computational biology, and drug discovery. With experience across academia and biotech, he is also the author of Beyond Academia, helping PhDs navigate careers beyond research.

Dr. Sergi Rodà Llordés is Director of Protein Engineering at Nostrum Biodiscovery, where he combines AI-driven protein design with physics-based methods to advance drug discovery and green chemistry.

Caelan Anderson is Co-Founder and CTO of Tolemy Bio. With a background in physics and engineering, he brings a complex systems perspective to biology. Tolemy’s platform, Orbit, connects laboratory operations, data and AI with cellular models to help scientists design more informative experiments and optimise cellular function. The team runs its own wet lab to test and refine these models.
