About Event
Join us for an evening of live coding, honest career stories and AI agents running in production,! 🎊
About us:
Imagen is developing disruptive technology for the professional photo editing market. We use the past editing history of each of our Imageners (clients) to create a personalized AI profile. That profile lets photographers optimize their workflow, cut down on painstaking editing work, and keep their unique editing style. Wedding, event and portrait photographers around the world use it to get back hours of their time.
At this Meetup the people behind the product take the stage.
React Runs Your Terminal: Let’s Build One Live
Tal Moskovich, Senior Full Stack Engineer at Imagen AI
Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenAI Codex CLI, Prisma, Gatsby. What do they all have in common? They're React apps - just not in your browser.
Ink is a React renderer that outputs to the terminal instead of the DOM, using the same Yoga flexbox engine as React Native, with full support for hooks and context.
In this live coding session, we'll start from an empty index.tsx and build "Troll Code": a working AI-powered CLI, live!
Compose terminal layouts with React components and Flexbox
Manage streaming responses with useState and useEffect
Handle keyboard navigation and real user input
Push the renderer from ~30fps to optimized 60+
If you already know React, you're already most of the way to building your own dev tool, AI assistant, or interactive CLI.
Starting Over: Are Our Boundaries Really Technical?
Meirav Grimberg, Backend Engineer at Imagen AI
As developers, are our boundaries really set by our technical knowledge?
After four years deep in low-level development, I made the jump to backend and found myself starting over.
In this talk, I'll share what that shift actually felt like: the fear of being "the junior" again, the skills that carried over in surprising ways, and the things that were completely new.
Along the way, it changed how I think about career paths in general, and about what AI really means for the way we grow as developers. If you've ever wondered whether switching domains is worth the risk, this one's for you.
Break: Refreshments & Networking
Your Jira is lying
Shahar Polak, Head of R&D Operations & Dan Linenberg, Backend Group Manager at Imagen AI
Tickets tell you what people remembered to write. The real story is in your code, logs, and production signals. Nobody has time to read it all.
So at Imagen AI, we built an agent that does.
It scans 40+ repositories, connects the dots, and cut triage from four hours to minutes.
This talk is about what worked, what broke, and what it really takes to run agents in production.
This meetup is for any developer who works with AI agents, or has wondered where their career is heading. It's also for any engineering leader who suspects the tickets don't tell the whole story.
Expect live code, real production stories, and a room full of people working through the same questions you are.
